Rowing Dock Aligner Plank
The aligner planks serve an important role in organizing and properly spacing each boat for a competitive rowing event. The plank extends just over the water beyond the dock to allow the boat holder to grab the end of the boat and properly align it for the Aligner Judge. Since each cube on our docks have the same dimensions, planks can easily be spaced evenly along the starting line.
Once all boats are aligned by the boat holder, the Aligner Judge sitting in the Starting Tower has an extremely important role at the beginning of a rowing or canoeing competition to ensure all boats are in the proper starting position down the starting line. If boats are not aligned, the Aligner Judge signals to the boat holders on the planks to adjust the position of the boats until they are all set. Once the aligner performs their final checks and is satisfied that all boats are in alignment, they signal to the Starting Judge to start the race.
